I'll do that, but for now I just want the thing to run reliably.  I'm  
wondering if that is a pipe thread and someone could chase those  
threads back into operation, thus need only a good pipe.

No hurry.  I had mine out of the tractor yesterday for cleanup and  
reinstallation.

I really should not be hand cranking this thing.  I've got some  
arthritis in these 65 year old wrists and simply cannot risk an injury!
