Your right about that-- mags and copper core wires get along fine but, I found out several years ago the ole JD B would not fire on anything else. My Dad had put a new wire on the right cyl and it never would fire on that cyl. Yep had put a car ign wire on it. Wire from another made it run fine. Most parts store mmmm maybe even John Deere has cable and ends to make up sets. I suggest you get a pleirs made to crimp the ends--mush better/prettier than the ole blue pliers job.

Hello,

Where can I find a set of spark plug wires with actual wires in the core?

Would like to replace the D2 pony wires but I'm thinking that the new high voltage wire won't be a good replacement?

Regards,

Will Powell

Subject: D2 Magneto Problems

Hello,

My father has a Caterpillar D2 5U with a very weak spark on the pony motor.

Does anyone know where he can find a rebuilt magneto or the parts needed to rebuild his present magneto?

Thanks,

Will Powell
