Howard,

This spline looks quite new and unused after I wire brushed it.   No  
paint at all, just the dark black-ish finish from heat treating, I  
suspect.  In any case, a fellow at TSC who appeared to know what he's  
doing suggested that a bit if filling would do the trick.  So I'll try  
that.

The fuel leakage problem seems to have solved itself.  This does not  
surprise me, and I'll also not be surprised if it comes back!
