Thanks for the info. I just spent some time searching the Ford Truck
Forum. It appears that:
- all 6.0 diesel engines have the block (coolant) heater installed,
but may not have the cord installed.
- The heater is a thousand watts
- that can cost 7 to 10 cents an hour to run
- a couple of hours plugged before needing to start is enough (I 'd
guess longer in very cold conditions, and less if the truck is not out
in the wind.)
It looks like temps will be one degree here tonight. I'll plug the
truck in for a while before I run it tomorrow, If I do run it. The
truck is int he barn so it may not be as cold in there.
