To tie this back to tractors, Fiat Group also owns the company that 
makes Case IH and New Holland and what remains of Allis. While they 
might not have done a lot for Allis, they have kept a LOT of New Holland 
  and Case IH dealers in business (who keep us supplied with various 
bits and pieces for our antique tractors and equipment). Having worked 
for a New Holland dealer, I can attest to the real interest they have in 
building the US market. They even have released an updated version of 
the old Ford 8N! (Well, it look like an 8N, even if it is a modern 4WD 
compact diesel underneath.)
