[AT] BOOO! anyone awake in there?

It doesn't take so much courage as it does working out the logistics of the recovery.  You're going to be basically  "in the house" for about six weeks.  It will be difficult to get in the driver's seat of a tractor for another 8 to 10 weeks.  Rehab money from Medicare, etc, will stop after about 3 months.  By that time, you'll be on your own enough that you can slowly start to resume normal activities, but it will be close to 6 months before you'll feel like long trips, etc.

So I'm hoping to have the next one done in January so the "inside time" is in the dead of winter and I can be mobile again for the beginning of the 2010 tractor show season.  My OEM knee is now bone-on-bone, but I have developed a technique for walking with a cane that lets me do that with no pain and no artificial cortisone shots so I won't have to go through the planned withdrawal of pain killers before the next knee replacement.

YMMV.
