[Farmall] Super A Idle Puzzle

It would help if we knew what you did when you "really tore it apart".

Assuming nothing with the throttle linkage is binding, try this for 
adjusting the governor;
With the engine off, push the throttle lever wide open. Pull the pin from 
rod that attaches to the governor arm. Push and hold that rod toward the 
back of the tractor and adjust the clevis until the pin will freely slide 
in. Hook everything back up and try again. Note--I would count the number of 
turns you move the clevis in case this is not the problem.

If that is not it I would suspect the thrust bearing in the governor or 
possibly something up with the butterfly.
