It does turn over. I assume if the negative ground was not grounded, then the starter would not function. It has been converted to 12 volts. Or am I missing something? (well, obviously I am missing something somewhere).
Thanks
Larry

Check the Ground very carefully. My H was having it's issues and nothing seem to help until I cleaned and reinstalled the battery to ground connection.

Well, I am still not the Farmall A started. No spark to points. I put on new points and new condenser. Set ththe points at .20 and cleaned them. Had the coil checked. Put in new distributor gear (old one had a chip in it so the rotor had quite a bit play in it). Put a new magneto cap on it (it is converted from magneto to 12 volts and the magneto is being used as a distributor. Put a new wire from the end of the condenser to the base of the points (that is a pain) thinking that it might have a short in it.
Finally quite tonight at 9:30. Any suggetions.
I have been messing with this thing off and an on now for a month.
Larry H.
