[Farmall] 140 Steering Problem

The sector gear and shaft is available at caseIH but it is very expensive. If you can confirm that the free movement is coming from there, you can have the gear welded to the shaft, grind off a little of the inside base of the steering gear to allow for the weld, and it will take up a lot of the slack. If you don't have it taken apart yet, get somebody to turn the steering wheel back and forth to see if you can tell if the shaft is slipping at the center steering arm. If it doesn't then it's probably inside at the sector gear/shaft.

>Thats what I'm thinking as well.  Tie rods seem good.  Wish I didn't spend $200.00 on new tires, as the old bald ones didn't do this as more surface was on th ground.  Oh well, Thats why I've named this one "THE MONEY PIT"  LOL
