Thanks. I'll check that. I suspect a seal, not a casting leak or  
gasket leak.. It is intermittent.  Might be the EGR cooler, whatever  
that is.  I"m pretty ignorant so far about both diesels and turbos in  
road vehicles.  (I did fly a couple of aircraft with blowers in them  
though.)

Thanks, I'll check that out.  If it works, that would save be BIG   
BUCKS.
