Keith, question is are you getting any spark plug spark NOW--since 
the wiring change?  The wire to the coil is hooked up to the wrong 
place/terminal.  You should trace the wire back to the ignition 
switch and make sure there is no juice to it when the switch is off 
(pushed in if you have the original push pull switch).   Unless your 
new coil has an internal resistor you need to have an external 
resistor installed between the long coil wire and the coil (to keep 
the coil from getting too hot and the points from burning).  It seems 
like you have multiple problems with the wiring.  A quick check to 
see if your engine electrical is OK disconnect the long coil wire at 
the coil and temporarily hook up a jumper wire directly from the 
battery (negative post if you have the original tractor positive 
ground) to the coil.  You should get spark at the plugs and the 
tractor should run.  If no spark there is a problem with the coil, 
points, high tension coil wire or condenser.   What's
