[Farmall] H Acquired, Now the interesting part

Hello all,  I've been a subscriber on this list for years, but to now have not written.  I just acquired a 1946 (according to seller, serial number is missing).  It's on 12v coil ignition.  Runs pretty well, but is not terribly close to original at this point.  I am not planning to restore this, but plan to use it as a working tractor.  That said, I do want to get it back to original equipment as time and finances permit.

A couple of things out of the gate.

1)  There is a leak on the right side of the main frame/differential housing.  Not too bad, but would like to resolve.  How involved is pulling the axle and housing?   Where can one find suitable gaskets?  If nothing else I will replace the fluid as it has water contamination.  I can always save the major work for later.

2)  There is a pair of brake bands on Ebay right now for $107.00.  Is that reasonable?  I need to replace the brake on the left side since it is marginal at best.

Thanks for any feedback/input.

As a footnote, I have been trying to track down an H for years, but few show up in North Florida.  I still hope to seek another one to restore or that is restored as soon as my tractor fund recovers from this round.

Cliff
