[Ford-ferguson] 8N Carburetor

Just a quick off-the-cuff:

You might check the float adjustment, or see if the float has a pinhole, 
and
thus some gas inside...

Or maybe a sticky float valve is letting too much gas flow, when it 
flows, but stops
the flow when you stop cranking.
