[AT] 3 point quick hitch - Missing emails

Allot of missing emails can be attributed to spam filters and virus filters not
only on your own personal system but those at the ISP's as well. The ATIS system
has filters/checking also. Some email providers are used more than others to
facilitate spam and viruses transmissions and the less sophisticated filters may
just filter out any messages coming from those domains. Or at least delay the
message while it takes a second look. The internet system is a very complex and
constantly changing inter-connection of many different servers around the world
each following their own filtering rules.

To a degree it is quite amazing things work as well as they do for a very low
personal cost for each of us.

That's why I started to use Gmail, for our family email address, along with
Thunderbird. I can change internet providers without having to change my
address. It's a real pain trying to remember all the places that you enter your
email address, this way I can stay consistent. I have a Juno account that I've
had for years, I use that for ATIS and any online shopping ect so I keep spam on
my Gmail account to a minimum. Mike

yep I'm pretty much in the same place Paul. I don't know if I get all of my
mail or not but I know I get a LOT LESS mail since I switched to Embarq. I
attribute most of that to the change in e-mail addresses but I still think I
might not be getting a message now and then.

Apparently the problem with Roy and Claudes thread was that Roy was
responding to a very old message from Claude. That's ok too.
