[AT] 3 point sickle bar

I don't have a certain answer without an image that I can look at. On my 
IH 100 sickle bar there is a "break-away" mechanism, so that if you hit 
a stump other obstruction, the whole mechanism will pivot around. What 
keeps it in place the rest of the time is a heavy spring.
