[AT] Info needed on JD Model L series 51 spreader

Does anyone know anything about the JD Model L series 51 spreader?  A friend 
has one is is curious about it's history. Any idea when they were made?  Are 
they rare?  What's it worth?  His has the spoke  wheels and the tires look 
original!

Any info greatly appreciated!
