[AT] OT: Avocado Orchard

Only this will happen in California.
NBC local news last night had a spot about this beautiful mature Avocado 
orchard being razed by chain saws. The pickers were pulling ripe fruit from 
the branches laying on the ground.
The interview with the owner went like this;
I'm the 4th generation on this farm and now I'm out of business as my water 
has been taken from me by the Los Angeles Water Authority. I can't bear 
watching these trees die, so they're being cut down. Response to the 
question of what he intended on doing next for a living, he responded by 
stating he wasn't worried so much about himself, but the 40 or so hired 
hands that have been on the farm for many years.
