[AT] battery question

Not just because it's on a tractor; it's just that the warranties on
these big tractor batteries are typically very short compared to car
battery warranties. I use a battery from AutoZone for most stuff
(actually have 2 I rotate between forklifts, my welder, electric winch
on trailer, etc.) but they are about half the physical size of this big
battery in the tractor. Both of them are just a few months old but no
way one'll turn that tractor in 40 degree F weather & start it. If they
would I'd buy one of them; about 70 bux instead of the big one for 132
bux!
I know it would likely outlive a 1 year warranty if it isn't bad now but
I'd rather not start out with an "old new battery" I think?

Lew,
The warranty would start from the date of purchase on your sales
receipt. That being said, Jerry's advice is probably correct. Even
though the warranty would be the same, a new one MAY last longer than
one manufactured/shipped 3 years ago!
Dave
PS, Why would the warranty be less on a if the battery was installed
on a tractor? If, indeed, that is the case why would you tell anyone
that it was in a tractor when you took it in for warranty exchange?
