I have one of those Harbor Freight truck cranes. It is sitting in my shop
leaning against the hunk of log anvil base waiting to be installed and has
been since last summer... I did put it together and I believe it to be well
made. I forget just how much I paid for it but I didn't think I could build
one as cheap as it was and certainly didn't have the time to make one. One
reason I have not gotten it installed is that I was wanting to make a quick
change mounting so I could move it from truck to truck (3) and maybe even
to one or more of the trailers. At this point maybe I should just buy a
couple more of them... :-)
On my old F-150 it is about 1 1/2" too tall to leave it mounted and put my
shell on the truck. Also I haul bales on these trucks and trailers and I
would like to have it quick to remove. Hopefully some sort of two pin mount
or the like.
For some reason over recent years stuff that lifts things for you seems
more and more interesting... :-)
