Dave,

This should work for occastional use. I have thought of doing similar on a shop I am building in Oklahoma. Like someone else said, the key is how well the soil absorbs moisture. As long as it can take away mosture faster than you can put it in it will work. If you want to help it work a bit better, install a few sections of perferated pipe lateral lines.

I am also building a 6 car toy (tractor) shed in the Houston area, and have just plumbed in for a toilet, shower, and sink, as well as a floor drain in 1 end. The only issue I have is some former owner installed our septic a bit on the high side, so I do not yet know the elevations.

PS - I have been away from the ATIS list for a few years working in Russia, and it is good to be back living in the USA, even if I still travel places (answering this from Dubia)

  Good Luck,
  Dennis

While you guys are on this subject....
A toilet room out here in the shop has been on my mind for quite some
time, expecially making the trek back to the house under duress.
Your thoughts on septic. I'm way out of town, so I can do what I want
in the way of a system. One toilet won't take much, and a friend I know
buried a couple of plastic 55 gallon drums, coupled them together by a 4" sleeve
at the sides near the top. The first became the holding side and the other
he drilled holes through the sides and bottom. It has been several years
since it was installed and no problems, however it very seldom in used.
Any thoughts?
Dave
