The IH dealer dad worked for also was a full line Echo dealer. They always 
cranked every unit before it left. On the rare occasion it was sold in a box 
for a gift, they requested the customer to bring it back for assembly and 
cranking along with instructions to the new owner on proper cranking and 
long term storage techniques. They sold a gazillion pieces of that equipment 
with overwhelmingly positive results.
