Isn't "walla" the Polish spelling for "voila"?

Wasn't there some fellow from Poland - a politician of note - whose  
name was Lech Wałęsa.  I guess that's not close enough and he has not  
called me lately so I can't ask him.  Anyway, a long time ago, I had a  
flight instructor whose name was Precsebychevsky or some thing.
