a friend of mine has done  a  couple of   v8-d's   to   A's and  ih M's  and  
one  really   good   JD  B diesel  out right same old  JD block.. 
 
he is a machineist  and took the  crank of the A out and had  a  straight 
shaft  inplace..  proper gearing was questionaable  as    6th gear on the A  
would take him  down the road  at  50mph    but in in 4th he was able to pull the  
 pulling sledge  a full pull in his wieght class... 
 
the B  was  great--  but he will not do either again.. he's  been asked..
