[AT] Ford N tractor

I have a friend that contacted me about a ford 8N. The charging 
system does not work. I checked battery 6.4 volts[after charging] can 
find nothing that shows charge when running. Gen trys to motor when 
power is put to it. It was rebuilt about 1 year ago new regulator. It 
has been to many years for me to remember all the tricks to test. 
Refresh my memory please. any and all suggestion welcome.
