John; On both the 45 and the WD it'll be in the same location. When you get 
on the tractor the serial boss will be just above the toe of your left boot 
on the tractors left axle housing. (just above the left rockshaft bearing) 
It'll be stamped, and hard to read without good light. If the WD is among 
the first of them, the serial will be under the left brake housing cover, 
again stamped. The serials will begin with the tractor model. WD on the WD, 
45 on the 45.
You get the serials, I have the year model info.
