[AT] Old tractors and hay

I guess it is only natural that haymaking is of interest to people.
Man's first domestication was the dog (the cat will never happen) ;-) and
I'm sure his second was some grass eater like goats or sheep. Hay is a
"very" old crop... It is also a pretty universal crop around the world. It
is funny to me that so little of it is grown in my area now since when I was
a kid (a few years ago) almost everybody here grew hay. Now there are almost
no fences, almost no livestock and little hay. Most of what hay I sell ends
up in horses and goats (another critter that was almost extinct here). There
are a lot of horses here now. In the late 1950's there were almost none.
Most of the ones that were here then were harness racing horses. Now most
are pleasure horses.
Kind of funny how the tractor made horses almost extinct and now one of
the big jobs of old tractors is feeding a rapidly growing population of
horses that don't work. ;-)
