Is this a sleeved engine?

I know very little about your track loader engine. But on the Ford power
stroke and other sleeved engines the sleeves will vibrate and cause
cavitation. This cavitation will eventually erode the sleeves and cause
a leak. There is a special additive that had to be in the coolant to
keep the water from cavitating. I am not saying that this antique engine
requires the special additive but what you may be seeing is the shock
wave from the diesel firing.
