[AT] Combine Canvases Needed

I am getting my IH 52R combine ready for the field. About all that is
left (that I know about--you never know a combine is ready for the field
until you are actually in the field working, or trying to work) is the
canvases. When I got it, it came with the long, lower canvas. Except,
it apparently is for an Allis All-Crop or something else because it is
too wide. No problema, I have a NOS canvas for a 52R. Went to put it on
today. Turns out, the NOS canvas seems to be for a 52R, the part number
stenciled on it is correct, but it is too short. About 20 inches too
short!! I am stumped on this. I checked the parts book, the main, long
canvas is part number 28662KC. My canvas is 28662KD, which is supposed
to work. Now, the parts book also lists a 20964K "canvas extension." I
am wondering if this is what I need. Why the heck is my canvas too
short???

I have another canvas that has some damage that if I can find someone to
sew it, I could make an extension to make my canvas work. I am wondering
if someone who does horse tack could do what I need, or maybe a tent and
awning shop? I understand many Amish craftsmen make binder and combine
canvases, that may be an option for later but I need something in the
next three weeks! The other alternative is to contact Legg Co. in Kansas
and see if they have one. They show canvases for a 12A JD, couple of All
Crops, and a 64 and 76 IH, but no 52R. (ex SW their link is Legg Co. )

Perchance does anyone have a set of canvases for a 52R? If nothing
else, I wish I had the exact measurements for both canvases so maybe I
can have some made later.

Ideas welcome!
Al
