I picked up a Case 900 tractor about 70 miles northwest of Grand Island
Nebraska about 5 years ago. The original sod house on this farm was still
standing. The roof was gone and animals had made a home there. The grandson
still lives at this farm and filled me in on the history. Seems grandma was
not impressed with the first winter there and demanded a more proper house.
The new conventional house is still standing proud and the main house for
the farm.
It was a nice visit and to be able to see this part of history gave a
special memory to this trip.
