[Ford-ferguson] battery charging

Basically the grounding only determines the direction the electrons flow.  When you charge the battery you are causing a chemical reaction to store energy in the battery.  All you have to be concerned with is the RED connector to the charger being on the + positive terminal of the battery and the BLACK connector to the charger being on the - negative terminal of the battery.

that is what has me confused because ground is always ground and  the way I
have it is the red is the the + and   is also the ground .the black is hot
but it sure doesnt seem right to work that way when the red is going to the
ground! to me its grounding itself out! whats keeping the battery from
killing itself! My + always goes to ground!
