[Farmall] 330u generator

Matthew:

There will be brushes, and bushings or bearings inside the generator.
These are things that can be pretty easily serviced.

The commutator(where the brushes rub) may be worn and need recutting or
undercutting. That really requires a lathe to do the cutting.

The rotor could may be shorted or open. The same for the stator(field)
could. In either of these case, if you don't already know how to fix it,
you will probably not want to do it yourself.

Thanks, it's been quite strange to troubleshoot - i've replaced the ends
on both battery cables, and this has made cranking easier - suspect
there was a bad connection to the battery, but the generator randomly
charges/discharges now - with the lights on it charges, turn them off,
it discharges.

There's nothing serviceable inside the generator itself is there?

thanks,

Matthew
