H.L.,

I've used a 9N for years as a mower.  Tapping the clutch while shoving the
shifter to neutral stops the pushing... no problem.  It soon becomes second
nature.

It isn't necessary to mess with the PTO lever.

I used an overriding clutch with both shaft driven mowers, but you can't use
one with a belly mounted Woods so you have to become a better driver.
