[AT] Farmall M transmission locked up

I have seen where the end of the shifter comes out of the shifter gate
(dog), while the tractor is in gear. Then after wiggling the shifter around,
it knocks it into another gear. That will lock up the transmission.

My neighbor has gotten their Farmall M transmission locked up. Any hints or
tricks to fixing it? I haven't looked at it yet. Probably will tomorrow.
