[AT] 560 starter short

Kevin,

I think I remember your 560 is gas.  If so, a wire runs from the S terminal 
on the solenoid to the coil (I think).  This wire supplies 12 V to the coil 
only while the  starter button is pushed.  (Start on 12V, run on 6V).  Check 
this line over carefully for a bare spot that would short.  Since it works 
O.K. when you jump the solenoid, I would also take a careful look at that 
mess of spaghetti wires under the dash for a  short in the wires to the 
starter button.
