I have never replaced the seals on an M brakes, but on an H the oil
level should be quite aways below the seals, and I assume an M would be
likewise. The seal can be removed using a combination of a seal hook,
or one of the small slide hammer dent pullers. You may find it to be a
double seal with an outer shell, sometimes pretty difficult to get it
all out.
