[AT] VAC Crankshaft Endplay

    Ron;
    I hope to not be the bearer of bad news for the VAC. Usually if the
crankshaft has enough forward play for the to contact the rear seal carrier,
it is likely too late. The thrust washer has broken out or completely worn
away allowing the front main thrust surface to run directly against the
block. Probably has done a lot of damage to both.

                    Gene

    Still active in De Graff, Ohio
