Hi Charlie and all.
I'll ask another Case VAC question. The rear main seal was leaking and
needed to be replaced. I thought that would be an easy task, think
again. I am waiting for gaskets to arrive today from Olson's Gaskets.
The two bolts from inside the rear main doesn't seem like a good idea.
The real question is; there is enough end play in the crank that the
flywheel is rubbing on the seal holder. What will I find when I drop the
pan? I expect one of the mains has a thrust surface that has worn thin,
or are these models noted for the crank to wear and allow the excess end
play?
Thanks.
