Those pulls depend more on height of hitch, weight on rear of truck,
limited slip axles and type of tires than on horsepower. A friend of mine
is a farrior. He used to have (20 years ago) a Ford F100 with an inline 6
and manual transmission. It had overload springs on the rear that held the
bumper up high because he had about 500 lbs of horse shoes, and anvil and
other heavy stuff inside the camper shell on the back. He hooked bumper to
bumper with a brand new Chevy with a big block engine and dragged the man
all over the yard. It wasn't a Ford Vs Chevy thing, a HP thing or anything
except he had more weight and his hitch was pulling the other guys rear end
up off the ground.
