I have a small fleet as well. I used to do all the scheduled maint on all
of them.. It got to the point I was spending lots of money on year oil
changes on engines that rarely ever ran.
I now only do periodic maint on my engines i will be using for daily or
yearly chores and shows.
Thus, i have 'mothballed' about 3 of them. That is, aired tires properly,
removed batteries, filled rads with new fluid, and left it there, cahnged
engine oil, then fogged,. Drain gas..Greased all parts and greased exposed
hyd pistons... Then I just walk by and admire them. When i need them
again..I'l go thru and undue all that.. untill then.. i just got too many to
start and try to run. My 'laziest' machine is an allis G that i just take
to shows. it gets out 3-4 times a year, and stays nice and cozy in my
garage. it does get started now and then just to keep it happy.
