Just courious, how many acres per hour were you planting? Rough numbers, 6 gal x $2.50 = $15. That is about what a well skilled tractor operator might earn around here, maybe a little less.
The gamble always is will my input + overhead costs be enough less than crop value (+ gov. support) to keep the wolf away from the door.
