[AJD] 530 Rebuild

The best thing to do is have your machinist look at it. He can point out
different things, like uneven wear, worn out lobs, etc... If the lifters
are worn, the cam is most likely worn.

Lou & John,

         Thanks for your response.

Now I have the follow up question. I have looked at the cam and it
appears to be OK. How can I tell if it should be reground, anything that I
would stand out that I should look for? Really green in this area since
this is my first complete engine rebuild..

  Thanks

  Ken Jones

I would recommend taking them to a machinist. You might want to look at
your camshaft. That is probably worn to. You can have the cam reground.

Getting ready to reinstall the camshaft and took a real good look at the cam
followers. Several have indentations worn into the follower face and two
have slight rust pits. Can these followers be refaced? Can it be done with
emery paper or best left to a machinist? Your advise would be appreciated

Thanks
