Made some great progress on the '54 SH this weekend. Left the lawn, garden and honey-do list alone. It's amazing what a guy can get done when has a little time. I stripped the trans. case, cover, torque tube and axle housings on Sat. morning. Washed a load of parts and will take them into work this week for sand blasting. The engine kit came UPS on Sat. I have one of "my" machinists making up the right size disc for my sleeve puller. Took the cylinder head to the shop for valve work. I had one head stud that snapped off in the block upon attempted removal. Successfully removed the remains. I borrowed a Milwaukee drill from my employer with a electromagnetic base. I used the Dremel and a small stone to put a depression in the top of the stud that acted to center the pilot drill. I got lucky and hit it dead center. Drilled it out for 7/16" NC and my neighbor watched in horror as I used the power drill to tap the hole.
