Chris:
Hopefully, someone who attended last years NW Two Cylinder Expo will
respond. I wasn't able to attend. But, generators are not all that difficult
to rebuild. Assuming one doesn't need the armature turned or replaced or
field wiring replaced, it only takes about $10.00 worth of parts to repair
the bearings, bushings and brushes. I haven't seen much unique about tractor
generators that any local generator repair facility couldn't handle. Most of
the generator repairs I have had to do have been as simple as just taking
them all apart, cleaning everything up, loosening the brushes so they slide
again with good springs, changing a brush or two and a few bearings. Doesn't
take all that long if things go well.
Now repairing Voltage Regulators is another thing! I've been pretty lucky
with generators and starters but not with regulators.

Can anyone help me out? At the two cylinder Expo
in Chehalis this year there was a gentle man and his
son there with a booth set up for restoring
generators. I got his information at the time, but
of course can not find it now that I am ready to send
him some work.. Does anyone know who this is?
