Joe:

JD 530's are one of the more popular two cylinders for a few reasons.

1.) The 30 series is the last of the two cylinders
2.) Smallest horizontal two cylinder
3.) Lightest horizontal two cylinder
4.) Will probably have less hours on it than other horizontal two cylinders.
5.) Just plain good looking
6.) Not as many made as other 30 series

Value also is dependent on configuration. Does it include a complete three
point hitch with good original top link? Float ride Seat? Deluxe Fenders and
lights? Power Steering? Roll-O-Matic or Wide Front End? Single or dual
hydraulics? Single or dual Front Rockshaft? High Clearance version? Tire
sizes? Rear Axle lengths & Dished cast rear centers? Weights - Rear wheel or
front frame weights?

Could run from around $3,500 to $6,500 in unrestored condition depending on
configuration and how much wear and tear it's had.

Hope this helps.

There's a JD 530 row cop for sale on e-bay near me. It's sitting in a barn
covered in pigeon goo and doesn't look like it's been running for a few
years. It was just listed and already has been run up over $3,400. Is
there anything special about 530's that I'm missing? It hardly seems worth
the amount it's at.

Just curious.

Enjoy, Joe
