I have to agree that it is not the board members job to be the police but
rather the entire membership. I am not down on motorized transportation
when I have a camper that is between 1/4 and 1/2 mile from my steamer and I
need oil, tools, starter wood etc. One of the events that I attend you are
charged 100.00 for a permit, must be a licensed driver and sign off on the
rules and places that you can drive. This is an event that lasts 11 days.
There is another event that I attend that you are required to have lights on
your motorized transportation which I think is a good thing. Another event
that I attend golf carts and ATV's are not allowed on the show grounds from
9 am until 6 pm unless you have a pass/permit. I find that the people that
bring golf carts, ATV's that are exhibitors are somewhat more responsible
except for some of there kids. There kids seem to think that since mom and
dad are exhibitors they can do what they want.

The biggest problem is the non-exhibitor that is allowed to bring in
motorized transportation when they are not handicapped and do not have a
need for motorized transportation except for there kids or because they are
lazy.

Let's not kill motorized transportation for us exhibitors that need it, but
rather control the non-exhibitors use and put the flee market and other
tight areas off limits unless officially handicapped. If you are not an
exhibitor or officially handicapped why do you need motorized
transportation? All shows have gates and can control the entrance of
motorized transportation. Put some rules in effect and have them put on show
flyers so everyone knows what is what. If you don't play by the rules
posted you should be asked to leave.

Bottom line is remove the key and be safe.

My two cents
