Ron:
Somewhere in my past, I think I remember hearing that the B-series tractors
had the glow plugs wired in series. Also, I believe that these tractors
have a coil of resistance wire behind a screen that is mounted on the
instrument panel. This serves two purposes. First it serves to drop the
battery voltage another eight volts or so ((4 x 0.9) + 8) = 11.6V. Second,
it is used as an indicator to show that the plugs are working. I may be
wrong on some of this, but the fellows over at the Yahoo IH B-series group
can probably set you straight. I've always liked the looks of those little
tractors, they look to be handy and beefy for their size. Let us know how
it works out.
