Greg,
  I love that one. When you work on old equipment that some not so  
mechanical types have worked on you can really appreciate a story like this. 
My IH 46 with the broken needles was one of those types I have spent an  
entire year just hunting and finding things to put back correctly. Its a good  
thing I got two of them at same trade.

couple of hours of troubleshooting they found the problem; a damn piece of  
metal kept getting in the way of the plunger arm. Using some good German  
ingenuity they found a way to wire that metal out of the way, and away  they 
went. Five hours later,450 dollars poorer, a few hours work by the  baler 
repair man, a new set of needles, and the proper timing ; and they  were 
baling right along.
