Leroy:
I commute from PA to NJ each day as well, but further into NJ than you
do. I'm fortunate in that my company allows me to work one day a week
from home. They would probably allow me two days but I find that it is
difficult to be away from the office more than one day per week. If
someone has a long commute, a diesel car is really important in my
opinion. I'm on my third VW diesel (bought the first one used with high
miles) and I have nothing but good things to say about them. It would be
great if more companies made diesels. In europe I seem to recall hearing
that they are around 40 to 50% of the auto market.
As to your comment about NJ house prices, you're right on that one! I
can have a "farm" here in PA whereas in NJ I'd be stuck in a little
suburban lot at a higher price than this entire place here in PA.
