[Steam-engine] Ultrasound test on vertical boiler

Rick,

The reason I asked the question, and I meant to comment on before I replied. But anyway, I know from personal experience that anyone can make an error in math. I was involved in a project where the ultra-sound readings I came up with and the boiler inspectors, on a later date, were within a thousand's of each other, yet the overall pressure he had set was 13 lbs. lighter than I had calculated. Upon further investigation it was found that an error on the part of the inspector was noted and a higher pressure was obtained. I don't mean to bad mouth any inspector, truth be known, they are just doing there job. But they can make mistakes like any of us. That is why I suggested and asked which formulas they are using. It is always nice to double check anyone's work.

Lawrence

Lawrence..I'll get a copy of all the paperwork and hopefully the formulae,
and he wants it to stay with the boiler..course he files a copy also.

32x82 and the firebox is stayed...riveted :-))

Thanks for the comeback
Rick
