[AJD] John Deere 650

Lyman,

I was curious to hear if you ever got your hands on that 650.

As I mentioned before I'd been holding out for a 750 without much luck.
Today as I was driving by, a guy down the road was putting a 650 out for
sale in his front yard with a 4' bush hog and a 4' box blade. I had to give
$6000 for all of it, but I finally have something close to what I've been
wanting. The tractor and equipment are all in exceptional condition. It's
amazing how much these things bring, but if I didn't jump at this one it
would have been gone by supper time to someone else. They already had
several stop-by's in the 30 minutes it took me get back with a down-payment.

The funny thing was, I had given up on the idea of a 750 or 650 and
yesterday had settled on an older Kubota L210 with 4 more pieces of
equipment (finish mower, disk, 1-bottom plow and tiller)with it for only
$200 more. But the tractor was hard starting and getting to look rough
(been outside for the past 5 or 6 years) and all the equipment would have
needed at least some work. And it just wasn't a John Deere.

Now I need to get rid of the Farmall Super A and Ford 2000 that have both
gotten to the point that I had to fix them every time I wanted to use them
and then find me a decent finish mower for the 650.

Anybody on this list familiar with the 650 garden tractor?
Have located one with a small loader on it. 1986 model with low hours
and clean. Any ideas how much it's worth?
Any help would be appreciated.
